Game Over Movie Review: 3/5 … Taapsee Pannu has done challenging roles and unique films in her career. Her recent Bollywood outings received critical acclaim and Taapsee is now testing her luck with Game Over which is releasing across the globe today. Ashwin Saravanan is the director and Y NOT Studios along with Reliance Entertainments bankrolled the film. Vinodini Vaidyanathan, Sanchana Natrajan, Ramya Subramanian, Anish Kuruvilla played other crucial roles. Here is the complete review of the film.


Game Over is the story of Swapna (Taapsee Pannu) who is a video game professional who resides in Gurgaon. She suffers scary haunts and Swapna gets depressed mentally. The back story of this is because of a physical assault that takes place in her life in the past on a New Year’s party. A tattoo story along with a murder mystery makes her restless. The rest of Game Over is all about the struggles of Swapna and how she overcomes depression and leads a pleasant life.

Taapsee delivers her career’s best performance in the movie. She excels as a struggling woman and is a treat to watch. Taapsee’s maid lived up the expectations and delivered a fine performance. Vinodini Vaidyanathan, Sanchana Natrajan, Ramya Subramanian, Anish Kuruvilla played their assignments well. All the other actors have been decent.

The story is the major highlight of Game Over. It is a new age thriller with horror, crime concept, psychological theme and spiritual touch. The screenplay and dialogues are the major highlights of the film. The cinematography work and background score supported the film well. The editing has been crisp and the production values have been adequate. Ashwin excels in style with his direction.


Game Over is one of the finest action thrillers in the recent times and is a film that is stuffed with all the ingredients in right amounts.
