Thimmarasu Movie Review |Tollywood is shut with the arrival of the second wave of coronavirus pandemic and the theatres are reopening after a long break. Two films Thimmarasu and Ishq are the films that are heading for a theatrical release today. Thimmarasu caught everyone’s attention because of the interesting trailer and the film is said to be a crime thriller. Satyadev and Priyanka Jawalkar are the lead actors in Thimmarasu that is directed by Sharan Koppisetty. East Coast Productions in association with S Originals are the producers and Sricharan Pakala is the music director. The film is heading for a decent release in the Telugu states. Here is the complete review of Thimmarasu:
Story: Thimmarasu is the story of a lawyer Ram (Satyadev) who is intelligent and honest at work. He decides to reopen the case of a cab driver Aravind who got murdered eight years ago. While Aravind happens to be a police informer, a cop Bhupathi Raju (Ajay) objects to reopen the case. A bar employee was framed in the murder and the rest of Thimmarasu is all about how Ram unfolds the real truths in this closed case and exposes the names of the real culprits to the world. Thimmarasu is the journey of Ram towards victory and watch the film to know about the rest.
Poor first half
Rushed at times
Too many subplots
Performances:Satyadev proved that he is one of the finest performers of Telugu cinema from this generation of actors. He looks promising in the role of a lawyer Ram who thrives to unfold the truths to the globe. The actor delivered his best through Thimmarasu. Priyanka Jawalkar is ok in her role and the actress has to lose weight to look fit on screen. When it comes to her performance, she is good. Brahmaji is the major USP and the entertainer of the film. His performance has been top class. Ajay plays well as a corrupted cop in Thimmarasu. Ankith has done a decent job and so is Jhansi. All the other actors have been good in their supporting roles.
Thimmarasu has an interesting plot and it comprises various sub-plots. The screenplay looks tricky but the film takes a long time to get into the real plot. The interval episodes are decent and the second half looks good, racy. The dialogues are good. The background score steals everyone’s attention and the cinematography work is good. The production values are ok. Director Sharan Koppisetty does a decent job throughout except for some flaws.
Verdict:Thimmarasu is a decent crime thriller with enough flaws. Too many sub-plots turn a barrier but on the whole, Thimmarasu is a decent attempt.
Thimmarasu Movie Review & Rating : 2.75/5

Nithiin and Tamannaah
Screenplay and twists
Xerox copy of the original
Nithiin keeps the audience breath-holding and the actor offers a perfect treat. He shines in the role of a blind piano player and he is good throughout the film. Tamannaah is the other highlight of the film and she is excellent in the role. Tamannaah looks ultra glamorous in the role though she could not match Tabu from the original. Naresh shines in the short role and Jisshu Sengupta was good as a cop. Nabha Natesh has nothing much to do in the film except during the first half. All the other actors are good in their roles.
Maestro has an interesting plot and the screenplay is the highlight of this crime thriller. The director decided to stick to the original and he did not miss the soul of the film. The music and the cinematography are the added strengths of Maestro. The production values are good and the film is shot across the beautiful locations of Dubai, Hyderabad and Pondicherry. The film’s director Merlapaka Gandhi had enough clarity about dealing the remake of Andhadhun and he did his best.
Maestro is a faithful remake of Andhadhun which has no deviations. The performances and the technical aspects are the strengths of this crime thriller.

Narration and Execution
Boring in parts
Kangana Ranaut proves once again that she is the finest performer in Indian cinema. The actress shines in the role and she changes herself to slip into the role of Jayalalithaa. She is the perfect choice for the role of Jayalalithaa and she proves it with her performance. Aravind Swamy too transforms well and he delivered his best as MGR in the film. Samuthirakani and Nassar have been flawless in their important roles. The film also has a bunch of Tamil actors and they did their parts well.
Thalaivii is a film that has sound technical aspects. Top writer Vijayendra Prasad worked on the script and his contribution has been remarkable. Massive sets are constructed for the film and they make the film look lavish. The production values are adequate.
